Wirecon self-contained wiring devices are a complete line of two-part receptacles, switches and splices, containing copper-alloy insulation-displacing contact which automatically terminate the conductors as the two parts of a device are joined. Wire stripping and all screw fastening of conductors to contacts is eliminated. In addition, neither a box not a stud is required for installation.

These wiring devices are intended for use only with nonmetallicsheathed cable (NM copper cable, either #12 or #14 AWG). Do not use with aluminum conductor cable. Unlike any other current-carrying wiring devices, these are self-contained, completely insulated, and DO NOT require a separate outlet box.

Performance, speed and safety were the driving forces behind the redesign of the Wirecon installation tool. Having the ability to install multiple conductors into the self-contained device quickly and accurately was the focus of our design. Now the installer can position the conductors over the insulation-displacement contacts and quickly terminate the conductors.
